Wire Transfers

When timing is key to transferring money, wire transfers are a safe and convenient way to move money to and from your Legacy State Bank account.  
 
Domestic Wires
Domestic wires are typically sent the same business day if submitted by 2:00 PM EST.  After 2:00 PM, there is no guarantee of same day processing and may carry over to the next business day. 
 
If you are receiving a domestic wire to your Legacy State Bank account, please provide the instructions below to the financial institution initiating the wire/ACH. 
 
 
 If you are sending a wire to another financial institution from your Legacy account, please reach out to obtain their wiring instructions. Your customer service representative at Legacy will need them in order to begin your outgoing wire transfer.  
 
Wire Fees*
  • Incoming Domestic Wire Fee   $20
  • Outgoing Domestic Wire Fee   $30
 
Most wire transfers will require an account holders' signature, and all wire transfers will require a confirmation call before the wire can be sent. 
 
How to prevent wire fraud?
The high-speed environment of wire transfers has also been exploited by wire fraud schemes.   Always use caution when prompted to send money through wire transfers. Wire fraud scammers will often pose as legitimate companies or individuals. This impersonation is used to request an urgent, confidential wire transfer for a supposedly time-sensitive business or personal need.  
 
5 Tips to help spot wire fraud requests:
  1. Do not give out personal information
  2. Be cautious of urgent and/or unexpected requests for payment
  3. Remember that sending wire transfers is like sending cash
  4. Look for grammatical errors in email correspondence requesting money to be wired
  5. When in doubt, stop and get help!
