A Word From Our President
Legacy State Bank began operations in March 2005 with a vision to provide outstanding banking products and services, along with an unmatched level of customer service, to businesses and individuals in and around the Loganville area. Approximately 450 individuals, most of whom lived in the area, invested over $17 million to initially capitalize the bank.
Like many areas around Atlanta at the time, the Loganville area was exploding with growth. The growth provided an opportunity to raise the bank’s loans and deposits rapidly. Unfortunately, when the “Great Recession” began only two short years after the bank’s opening, many of those borrowers were unable to meet their loan obligations over the years following. As a result, the bank incurred substantial losses.
Legacy State Bank was determined to survive. To address the challenges, the bank raised additional capital to strengthen the company’s balance sheet. New leadership was identified to lead the bank through the downturn and recovery. The leadership of the bank’s board of directors and executive management, the hard work of each employee, and the continued support of our businesses and individuals allowed the bank to survive at a time when over 100 banks in Georgia failed or went out of business.
Today, Legacy State Bank is well capitalized, we have the strongest and most experienced team of directors and employees in the history of the bank, and we have seen solid growth in loans, deposits and earnings. Our board of directors and our employees live in and around our community. Our tellers, customer service, lenders and deposit and loan operations are all under one roof. As a result, we can make quick decisions and address any needs or concerns immediately. Finally, in addition to supporting our community with great banking services, we participate in and continually invest in many local civic and charitable organizations in our community.
While we are one of only a few remaining true community banks in the Atlanta market, we offer the services of the large banks including online banking, mobile banking and remote deposit, but we also take the time to get to know our customers.
